Word Wednesday .::116

Word Wednesday is posted every Wednesday. Each week I post a scripture that I've read that week that has spoken to me in a fresh way. I believe that if we read God's Word every day, He will give us at least one scripture every week that will impact us. Sharing Scripture with each other is like iron sharpening iron. Leave a comment and share a scripture that has impacted you this week.

Here's the scripture that stuck this week:

Lamentations 3;19-27 The Message

19-21I'll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness,
the taste of ashes, the poison I've swallowed.
I remember it all—oh, how well I remember—
the feeling of hitting the bottom.
But there's one other thing I remember,
and remembering, I keep a grip on hope:

22-24God's loyal love couldn't have run out,
his merciful love couldn't have dried up.
They're created new every morning.
How great your faithfulness!
I'm sticking with God (I say it over and over).
He's all I've got left.

25-27God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits,
to the woman who diligently seeks.
It's a good thing to quietly hope,
quietly hope for help from God.
It's a good thing when you're young
to stick it out through the hard times.

This is an incredible scripture of perspective. If you read the context of this, not just in the chapter, but the whole book of Lamentations, you see someone who finds their joy in the Lord and in Him alone. I pray that we all are challenged to have that testimony more and more everyday. Let's quit loving stuff & comfort.

Want or Need: INTERNET

In an ever-growing materialistic society, it's becoming more difficult to distinguish the difference between what we really want and what we really need. It's time for you to weigh in on this discussion. It's real simple...is it a want or a need?

Here's the scripture that stuck this week:

Jeremiah 17:9-10 The Message

We've all heard of Moab's pride,
that legendary pride,
The strutting, bullying, puffed-up pride,
the insufferable arrogance.
I know"—God's Decree—"his rooster-crowing pride,
the inflated claims, the sheer nothingness of Moab.
But I will weep for Moab,
yes, I will mourn for the people of Moab.

Could we possibly relate with Moab? "...strutting, bullying, puffed-up pride, the insufferable arrogance." You don't have to look far to see these traits, for sure.

Music Monday 45

This is a post that you can participate in on every Monday. Everyone likes music, and there are obviously many tastes in music. This is here to see what different types of music are filling everyone's lives. Chime in!

We watched the movie Aladdin this weekend, and Jen and I sang a lot of the songs, so...

What's your favorite song from a Disney cartoon movie?

I always liked "You'll Be in My Heart" from Tarzan. Good ole' Phil Collins. Killer video too.

For the Glory of the Father

Here's a new song we introduced last Sunday. I'm slowly bringing out a crop of songs I've been writing for the last year. Let me know what you think.

I painted our bathroom this weekend, and I listened to my playlist on the ipod over and over, so...

How often do you change up your playlist?

I listen to mine a bit at a time, so I rarely sit through the whole thing. I probably change mine every other month or so.

Save Blue Like Jazz

Blue Like Jazz is a book I read a few years ago that really impacted me and most everyone else who read it. Click here to read my review on it.
I am selective on what causes I donate to, but this is one I believe is worthy. This might be the only Christian film to come out that actually might have a chance of impacting the unchurched. I hope to see this hit theaters, and I hope it portrays the book well. If so, it will be a great opportunity for outreach for the Kingdom.

Here's the scripture that stuck this week:

Jeremiah 17:9-10 The Message

31-32"That's right. The time is coming when I will make a brand-new covenant with Israel and Judah. It won't be a repeat of the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took their hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt. They broke that covenant even though I did my part as their Master." God's Decree.

33-34"This is the brand-new covenant that I will make with Israel when the time comes. I will put my law within them—write it on their hearts!—and be their God. And they will be my people. They will no longer go around setting up schools to teach each other about God. They'll know me firsthand, the dull and the bright, the smart and the slow. I'll wipe the slate clean for each of them. I'll forget they ever sinned!" God's Decree.

Another amazing prophecy of Christ. Jesus brings us to a personal relationship with God, as the Holy Spirit allows us to say "Abba Father." The new covenant is sweet.

Just got back from a cruise last week, which is a chance to just chill and listen to some tunes, so...

What do you like to listen to when you're chillin' at the pool or beach or just chillin'?

I actually found an album several years ago called "Chair and Microphone". It's perfect to listen to at the beach for me. Click here to check it.
